2017年2月10日、特定非営利活動法人ルーム・トゥ・リード・ジャパンは、所轄庁である千葉県より認定NPO法人として認定されました。
認定NPO法人とは、運営組織・事業活動が適正で公益の増進に寄与する団体として、一定の基準を満たしていると所轄庁の認定をうけたNPO法人をいいます。全NPO法人の中でも、認定NPO法人として認可されている団体は、わずか２％以下です。これにより、ルーム・トゥ・リード・ジャパンにご寄付をいただく個人・法人の皆さまは、税制優遇を受けていただくことが可能になります。
法人設立から6年以上が経ち、多くの皆さまにご支援いただいたおかげで、活動内容が適正であると千葉県から認定をうけることができました。これも、ルーム・トゥ・リードの活動に賛同し、プロボノとして支援くださったモリソン・フォースター外国事務弁護士事務所 伊藤 見富法律事務所の先生方と、応援してくださった皆さまのおかげです。心より感謝を申し上げます。

認定NPO法人へのご寄付は税制上の優遇措置を受けることができます。
1.「個人」からのご寄付について：寄付金控除を受けることができます。
2.「法人」からのご寄付について：損金算入限度額の枠が拡大されます。
3.「相続人」からのご寄付について：寄付した相続財産が非課税になります。
ご寄付は、銀行振込およびクレジットカードでのお支払いからお選びいただけます。

ROOM TO READ JAPAN ACHIEVES CERTIFIED NPO STATUS
Room to Read Japan is a certified non-profit organization (Nintei NPO) registered by Chiba Prefecture effective from February 10, 2017. A Nintei NPO is an organization that has cleared the standard conditions and received approval. Nintei NPOs make up less than 2% of all NPOs.
Donors who donate to a Nintei NPO are able to receive income tax deductions under the tax system.
1. Donations from individuals to a Nintei NPO : Donations are tax-deductible.
2. Donations from corporations to a Nintei NPO : Additional threshold is given for the maximum deductible amount to be treated as loss.
3. Donations from inheritors to a Nintei NPO : When a part or all of one’s inheritance is donated, the donated portion will be exempt from inheritance tax.
It has taken us multiple long years to complete the paperwork and pass the government checks to become a Nintei NPO. We are very honored and grateful for the support that we received from Morrison & Foerster LLP, our pro-bono legal partner.
